Chromagika Girl v0.7.3 update comes with more music!


Hello everyone!

This minor update comes jam packed with lots of new tracks in the jambox and several casual mode balancing, as well as improvements to the game play experience. With more bugs and stuff resolved, I should be able to concentrate on level designing and story writing from this point on wards. So while waiting for the full game and to those who have played the game, why not fire up the 20+ tracks in the jambox and enjoy it along with the inspiring title screen. Anyway, once again I would like to thank everyone for their feedback, the follows, and support to this ever growing project.


So these are the concerns from feedback that I have address in this minor update:

  1.  Dialog scene gets a little busy with the scroller background. Suggest to dim the background during dialog.
  2.  Switching control schemes crashes the game.
  3.  Teleportation not having a momentary shield (the teleport modes does have invulnerability turned on but wasn't obvious and is counter intuitive when players absorb projectiles during teleport mode).
  4.  Projectiles direction cannot be determine during teleport mode.
  5.  Focus bar level is not immediately visible when used due to the UI art overlay.

All of the above issues have been addressed in v0.7.3 and several more stuff have been added to better the gaming experience:

  1.  The scroller background dims during dialog scene.
  2.  Possible fix for the control scheme crashing after switching which may be caused by an issue with the Unity New Inputsystem that resets when an unassigned key is pressed.
  3.  Fixed visual glitch where projectiles get absorbed by player character during teleport mode. Projectiles now don't get absorbed during teleport mode and should indicate to players that projectiles do not affect player character during teleport mode.
  4.  Added a projectile trail to enemy projectiles only visible during teleport mode. This will help give players an additional sense of direction where the existing projectiles will be going.
  5.  Focus bar color is changed from dark blue to light blue, making it more visible under the UI art overlay.
  6.  Teleport decay has been slowed down when not moving in casual mode, gives player more time and breathing space to think about their teleport placement.
  7.  Teleport mode can be deactivated by pressing the teleport button again.
  8.  Teleport mode does not drain focus bar when in-game menu is open.
  9.  Refactored and streamlined the animation setup and to the system, with this I am now able to integrate new backgrounds and transitions easily.
  10.  Added all the music tracks plus extra soft loops to the jambox list.

Rest assured, there will be even more changes to the game along the way, so please keep your eyes and ears peeled for more updates.

[Edit, 25th March 2021] Forgot to mention that I have additional aim button keys mapped in consideration for laptops (Page Up/ Page Down) since not all laptops have numpads.

The increase in movement speed, slower bullets and the additional time to in the phase movement make gameplay a lot smoother for casual mode! Looking forward to seeing more levels!
